FISH HEAD IS...
JACK LYTTLE - GUITAR/VOCALS
RUSSELL CLEAR - BASS
DRUHAN WILSON - DRUMS
Fish Head materialised in 2016 when guitarist Jack Lyttle and bassist Russell Clear met in a shed outside of Tunbridge Wells. Soon after jamming out demos, the band completed its first line-up with drummer Luke Elliot.
Their 2016 debut Bring the Thunder, recorded at Granary Studios by Guy Denning, first showed the band’s mix of punk-tinged riffs and frenetic basslines, leading to frequent shows around the Kent and London area, notably Tunbridge Wells’ The Forum and Brick Lane’s Café 1001, as well as becoming a consecutive billing at Unfest. More shows and a few DIY music videos later, Luke left the band.
While the composition for album two gained speed, Fish Head joined up with drummer Matt Button. His time with the band was short, but their live return was documented on the live EP Live! Like Real Songs, and ended on a jam-packed sweatbox of a basement show.
In April 2020, unable to connect with any new drummers due to the coronavirus lockdown, the band released the self-recorded EP Cabin Fever, and continued to build a vault of songs while the world stopped turning.
As restrictions varied across Kent, and after Jack took up the kit during the fruitless search for a drummer, Fish Head returned to Granary Studios as a duo, and recorded their sophomore album. Released the first second of 2021, Ain’t Dead Yet expands the fast-paced bangers and in-yer-face riffs philosophy (with help on Into the Fire and Stand Alone from drummer and band friend Neil), notching up the speed and technicality.
In 2021, Druhan Wilson joined the band as drummer, and now with a full line up, Fish Head are rehersing for upcomming shows and album three.
